Procrastination and "snooze control"

Nothing like waiting until the absolute last day to get your vehicle tabs.

The sad thing is that I had my safety and emmissions test a week before February ended so I could be sure to get my tabs with plenty of time to spare.

Maybe that was my problem......I knew I had plenty of time and promptly forgot that I needed to do it until the end of last week. Unfortunately the DMV is no longer open on Fridays. I'd planned to be there yesterday bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 7 in the morning but I elected instead to hit snooze a couple times and didn't want to be late for work.

Anyway, this morning I ran down to my local Jiffy Lube, showed them my test results and then shelled out an extra ten bucks for them to issue me my tabs. I figure I deserve it for putting it off for so long. Sure I could have driven to the DMV over in Provo and been at their doors at 7, but, as I am sure you guessed....the snooze button won again.

I need to keep my alarm across the room from my bed...out of easy reach.

Class

Hey everyone....wish me luck.

This month I am learning Dreamweaver (website coding). Tonight is my first class and boy is it giving me a headache trying to read the instructor's screen from the back of the class. Its hooked up to a tv monitor on the wall but the print is so small that I am definately going to have to sit at the front of the class for the rest of the month!

Tomorrow I start product/packaging design. I admit I am really excited for that one. I got my textbook for it tonight and couldn't resist taking a sneak peek!

GIVE-A-WAY!!!!!

whiletheyplay is having a fantastic give-away for the crafter/crocheter/knitters amongst us. Sadly she just discovered that she is allergic to acrylic yarn and so all if it must go....and what a way to let it go.....

Follow this link and post a comment to be eligible for her drawing. All you have to do is tell her in the post what you plan to do with all of the lovely yarns if you win. If you post her giveaway on your blog, insert a link to it in your post and you will be given an extra 2 entries into the drawing!

What will I do with it? Honestly....I plan to give it to Miya and Lucie to play with. Odds are pretty long that I will win, but I figure it is worth the effort.

Name That Rover

Click here to help name the next Mars Rover leaving for a planet near you around 2011.

There are 9 semi-finalist names (the essay contest was open to kids ranging from 1-12grade). Its a simple drag -n- drop system where you sort the names according to your own personal tastes. The winning child will be notified late April or early May and they will not only have their name broadcast as the winner, but they will also get to sign the rover itself before its launch (totally kewl....I'd be squealing for joy and jumping up and down like mad if that were me!)

Polls are only open until this Sunday so vote now....unless you have something better to do with your lives.....obviously I don't!

No spring break for we students at my school. Apparently the only break we get is 2 weeks at Christmas.

Major bummer.

Funny, funny, funny....

Okay, I was goofing off on YouTube when I came across a funny video entitled "25 things I hate about Facebook" by Julian Smith. I admit not every item he listed had me laughing, but I enjoyed it so much I started looking for what else he had posted. Next thing I know I am midway through an 8 week serial of how Julian was kidnapped by a Russian named "Gabrielle" who is going to execute our filmmaker unless his website gets 1500 subscribers. Hysterical. I ended up zipping over to his website and subscribing....

If you are looking for a fun diversion I really recommend checking out this rather talented (and still somewhat unknown) filmmaker. You can check him out at JulianSmith.tv

Another reason this looks to be a glorious summer....

I really am looking forward to this summer's movie reviews, aren't you?

At this time there is no known rating for "Terminator: Salvation", however the studio is pushing the director to edit it down to a PG-13 rather than the R rating of Terminators past......

This link is to a short article with tips and tidbits about the new film, and includes an amazing movie trailer.

Enjoy!

Photos

Since I don't want to keep filling up my blog with pictures I've been taking here is a link to a deviantart gallery of my images. I try to post 2 new images a night, but it doesn't always happen.....if you check in once a week though you will be able to see the newest of the "good stuff".

By day she works in a crematorium, by night she sets the town ablaze with her pyrotechnic skills....
